On Friday Dubai Police issued a strong warning to parents and teenagers about growing culture of deadly challenges on social media platforms, which is dangerous to human life.
This culture involves in skull breaking, choking, breath holding and reckless practices that can led to serious injuries or death, authority post short video clip saying "These challenges often attract teenagers seeking excitement or online attention, without fully understanding the serious consequences. "They also said this challenges have already resulted in critical injuries in many other countries. Dubai Police also said the report them if anyone se this dangerous or inappropriate activities in public by calling 901 or through "Police Eye" service , which is available on the Dubai Police app.
Many families are not speaking openly with their children about dangers of coping harmful content shared on social media. By telling their children they can reduce problems of abnormal activities. This is not the first time authorities said parents to be careful about their children’s consumption of online media. Back in 2020, the UAE Ministry of Education warned students against playing a dangerous online prank that went viral on social media platform TikTok involving tricking an unsuspecting friend or acquaintance into jumping in the air for a video. Where made victim fall back flat on the ground.
The challenge more than five years ago reportedly injured numerous teenagers across the world. There was another challenge involving youngsters eating laundry detergent and daring others to do the same.
